It is not all products on Zazzle can be customized. It depends on the designer. Some of my products, can be customize easily by you. See how easy it is.
I can give you an example. Mostly, I write down on the title which products that can be customized the background yourself.

Step 1
First, you have to click "customize it". This are the view that you see after you click "customize it". Choose the color at arrow A. If you want more colors to browse, click arrow B.
Step 2
This are the view after you click arrow B. There are more colors to choose. But if you can't find it, you want more colors. Just click "advanced". Choose the color you want, then click "done".
